Chicago, IL (June 8, 2026) – Six people were taken to hospitals following a five-vehicle traffic collision on the city’s South Side Sunday evening, June 7. The chain-reaction crash occurred near West 87th Street and South Western Avenue.
According to preliminary information, five vehicles were involved. One person was listed in critical condition, while two others were reported in serious condition. Three additional people were reported to be in good condition after receiving medical attention.
Emergency units worked at the intersection as those involved were evaluated and taken for treatment. Information about what led to the wreck had not been released as of this report. Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
