Akron, OH (September 19, 2023) – Two separate crashes on Monday, September 18, 2023, led to the deaths of two individuals in Akron.

The first incident happened at 5:45 p.m. when an unidentified 66-year-old woman drove off the road on Akron Peninsula Road, striking a pole.

Her car overturned, and she was declared dead at 6:06 p.m.

Later, at 7:15 p.m., Lawrence Meiers, 60, rode his motorcycle on Albrecht Avenue.

He tried to overtake a turning vehicle at Ripley Avenue, but the motorcycle hit the car.

 Meiers got ejected and was taken to a local hospital, where he passed away at 7:45 p.m.

The investigation is still ongoing.
