Albany, NY (May 22, 2023) – The Saratoga County Sheriff’s office responded to the scene of a head-on collision involving a Mechanicville Central School bus that claimed one man’s life.
The crash was reported at around 7:15 a.m. on May 22.
According to officials, a 2007 Chevrolet couple collided head-on with a school bus from Mechanicsville Central. The impact of the crash then caused the bus to strike a 2013 Kia Optima.
The driver of the Optima suffered injuries in the crash. She was transported by ambulance to Albany Medical Center for further treatment.
One person involved in the crash, identified as 23-year-old Jacob Granberg, was fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
