Albuquerque, NM (March 24, 2023) – Law enforcement officials with the Albuquerque Police Department say that a two-vehicle accident involving a police car resulted in injuries on Thursday, March 23rd. The collision was reported near the intersection of Lomas and Louisiana Boulevards in the city of Albuquerque.
According to the APD, one of their vehicles was involved in a crash with a civilian vehicle for undetermined reasons. The force of the crash caused the APD vehicle to catch fire, and emergency responders were immediately summoned to the area.
Upon arrival, crews located at least one seriously injured occupant of the other vehicle. The wounded victim was transported to a local hospital to undergo evaluation and treatment of sustained injuries.
At this time, no details have been provided concerning the condition of the hospitalized victim, but their injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
