Albuquerque, NM (February 13, 2023) – Severe injuries were reported following a chaotic multi-vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 40. The crash occurred on Sunday night, February 12th, between Tramway and Juan Tabo Boulevards.
According to officials with the Albuquerque Police Department, a motor vehicle was attempting to change lanes when it collided with a second vehicle, causing it to spin around in the westbound lanes of the Interstate. The vehicle was then struck by a tractor-trailer, and the driver exited the car. That person was then struck by a fourth vehicle in the area.
Multiple emergency crews were dispatched to the scene, where the driver who was struck by the 4th vehicle was taken to a nearby hospital. That person is currently listed in critical condition.
At this time, no further details have been released. An investigation is actively being conducted by authorities with the APD.
