Alexandria, VA (December 24, 2020) – A child was killed during a collision between two vehicles along Richmond Highway on Wednesday, December 23rd in Fairfax County.

The accident occurred in the 5900 block of Richmond Highway near the intersection of Huntington Avenue.

Reports indicate that a man driving a 2003 Crown Victoria lost control of his car on an icy patch of the roadway causing it to veer into oncoming traffic a collide with the Hyundai Elantra in which the child was riding, along with a female driver and a teenage girl.

Four victims, one of whom was a child, were transported via ambulances to a local hospital with accident-related injuries. 

The child was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Details concerning their names and ages have not been released.

The man and the teenage girl both sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

This accident is under investigation by local law enforcement.
