Alexandria, VA – Traffic Collision Reported on Richmond Highway near Lockheed Blvd

Alexandria, VA (July 17, 2023) – Emergency crews were requested at the scene of a car crash that took place early Saturday morning, July 15.

At approximately 2:15 a.m., a major collision occurred on Richmond Highway in the area of Lockheed Boulevard. The crash prompted the Fairfax County Police Department and Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department to respond.

Emergency crews immediately shut down the roadway as they provided assistance with clearing the damaged vehicles from the active lanes of travel.

EMS crews were requested to care for victims while at the scene. An unknown number of victims were transported to local hospitals for further care and evaluation.

Emergency crews remained at the scene for over an hour and a half as they worked to clear the area. Investigations into the accident are ongoing.
