Arlington, TX ( July 27, 2023) – The incident occurred off Interstate 20 and South Cooper Street.
Police were called to the scene shortly before 7:30 a.m. after receiving reports of an unresponsive man lying in a grassy ditch between the service road and the westbound entrance ramp.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Earlier on July 24th, 2023, around 12:40 a.m., the driver of a Ford Explorer had reported that he might have hit something while driving down I-20 approaching Bowen Road.
At the time, the driver was unsure what he had hit and pulled into a nearby parking lot while waiting for police to arrive.
He initially thought it might have been a stray car part, and his SUV had sustained front-end damage.
Now, authorities are investigating whether the man found dead in the grassy ditch was hit by the Ford Explorer earlier that morning.
The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the incident.
