Arlington, VA (November 12, 2022) – A traffic accident took place in the Rock Springs neighborhood that claimed one person’s life. The crash was reported at around 12:30 a.m. on November 11.
According to reports provided by the Arlington County Police Department, two vehicles collided on Old Dominion Drive at the intersection of Williamsburg Boulevard. The vehicles were identified as an SUV and a sedan. The two vehicles came to rest, blocking the roadway. The SUV had caught on fire as a result of the collision.
Investigations into the accident determined that the driver of the sedan was attempting to make a U-turn on Old Dominion Drive when the vehicle was struck by a speeding SUV.
The driver of the SUV was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and taken into police custody.
A juvenile male suffered fatal injuries due to the crash. The victim was pronounced dead on the site.
The police department is investigating the crash at this time.
