Ascension Parish, LA (October 27, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on Highway 935 east of Highway 431 shortly after 10:30 a.m. on October 25, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist. According to the Louisiana State Police (LSP), the crash involved a motorcycle and a truck.
The victim, identified as 51-year-old Rodney Michel of St. Amant, was riding a 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling west on Highway 935 when he lost control of the vehicle. Preliminary investigations indicate that Michel was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the eastbound lanes of the highway, where he was subsequently struck by a 2002 Ford F-250 traveling in the opposite direction.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Michel was pronounced dead at the scene. Fortunately, the driver of the Ford truck was not injured in the incident.
The Louisiana State Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, and further details may be released as the investigation progresses.
