Ashland, NE – Fatal Chase and Crash on 16th St Results in One Death

Ashland, NE (November 20, 2023) – An unfortunate event unfolded early Sunday morning, November 19, resulting in one casualty. The Saunders County Sheriff’s Office reported a car chase on 16th St in Ashland. Within a minute of the pursuit’s initiation, around 2:33 a.m., the driver veered off the road, colliding with a tree.

Tyler Persons, 29, from Ashland, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Due to the nature of the incident, the Nebraska State Patrol is leading the investigation, with Ashland police contributing. A grand jury is set to convene concerning this case.
