Atlanta, GA (March 24, 2023) – On Wednesday evening, March 22, officers with the Atlanta Police Department reported to South Cobb Drive in the Smyrna area for a serious car accident.
Traffic was reportedly backed up due to an accident involving at least two to three vehicles.
The Georgia Department of Transportation issued a notice that all lanes are closed at the intersection of South Cobb Drive and Oak Drive. According to authorities, the accident also took down a power pole.
As of 5:00 p.m., GDOT advised motorists to utilize Atlanta Road as an alternative route.
In the meantime, EMTs also responded and apparently transferred a handful of victims to a local medical center, where they remain in unknown condition.
The incident remains under investigation in the interim, and no further details have been provided.
