Truck Crashes in Georgia
Auto accidents including large trucks and smaller vehicles almost always end in injury or death for those present in the smaller vehicle at the time of the crash. According to recent statistics compiled concerning semi-truck accidents with smaller passenger cars, approximately 96% of the time, injuries, or fatalities result from these wrecks but affect only those who were in the smaller vehicle. This is due in part to the massive size difference in motor vehicles.
Large trucks also take longer than the average vehicle to come to a complete stop, and their drivers are often fatigued due to long hours spent on the road. Federal regulations applied to truck drivers in the US state that they are allotted 11 hours to drive between breaks, which can ultimately lead to unsafe driving conditions. In 2018, Georgia truck accidents were reported to have occurred approximately once out of every six traffic accidents.
