Atlanta, GA (March 22, 2023) – Two people have died as a result of an automobile accident that took place in the Atlanta area on Sunday morning, March 19.
The accident was reported to the DeKalb Police Department at around 4:00 a.m.
According to officials, a series of collisions took place on Interstate 285, along the southbound side of the roadway. The incident prompted authorities to shut down the road near Memorial Drive.
Two people involved in the crashes were fatally injured. One other person suffered serious injuries.
The injured victim was transported to an area hospital for emergency care.
The DeKalb Police Department confirmed that two of the involved vehicles fled the scene without stopping.
At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
