Atlanta, GA (February 8, 2022) – Officials in Georgia have reported that a wrong-way motorist caused a deadly collision early Saturday morning on I-20 eastbound near Atlanta.
According to investigators, the collision was caused by a motorist traveling in the wrong direction. Officers also requested the Georgia Accident Investigations Unit at the scene to assess the facts behind the crash and collect evidence.
The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed by authorities, and further details have not been provided in the meantime. It’s also unclear if the driver involved stayed at the scene.
An investigation remains active at this time, and the Georgia Highway Patrol will release additional information as it becomes available.
