Auburn, ME (September 13, 2023) – Steven Mortimer, 57, from Auburn, met a tragic end on Monday night after being hit by a vehicle.
The collision occurred on Center Street, near Target’s entrance, around 10:35 p.m.
Mortimer, in his wheelchair, was crossing the road but not within a crosswalk and against traffic.
A Kia Carnival, driven by a 54-year-old Florida resident, struck him.
Central Maine Medical Center admitted Mortimer, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation is still ongoing.
