Aurelius, NY – Kathryn Lawler Dies in Blanchard Rd Accident

Aurelius, NY (September 19, 2020) – A woman was killed on Wednesday, September 16th during a two-car accident in Cayuga County.

Police reports indicate that the fatal collision took place at about 5:15 p.m. in the town of Aurelius.

65-year-old Kathryn F. Lawler, a resident of Port Byron, was traveling northbound along Blanchard Road in a 1996 Dodge van when, according to deputies, she failed to obey a stop sign, continuing onto Turnpike Road where it collided with an eastbound 2016 Hyundai.

Lawler was transported via ambulance to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. She was pronounced dead a short while later. 

55-year-old Victoria E. Wilson, a resident of Port Byron, was a passenger in Lawler’s van. She sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the collision and was taken to Auburn Community Hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle, 22-year-old Jordan R. Novak, a resident of Cicero, also sustained minor injuries that were treated at the scene.

This accident is still under investigation by local law enforcement.
