Bakersfield, CA (July 22, 2023) – A tragic car accident occurred at Pacheco Road and Akers Road in Kern County early on Friday, July 21, 2023.
The Bakersfield Police Department told Bakersfield Now that two drivers collided at 12:10 a.m., killing one man and injuring two women.
Northbound on Akers Road, the man, and his female passenger hit a westbound Pacheco Road car with two occupants.
The impact caused their vehicle to crash into a fence and overturn, ejecting them.
While paramedics took the woman to the hospital, the man died.
The Kern County Sheriff-Coroner is notifying families, but investigators believe speed caused the crash.
The investigation is still ongoing.
