Bancroft Twp., MN (December 22, 2024) – Emergency responders were quick to the scene of a two-vehicle accident involving a Nissan Altima and a Freightliner Semi on southbound Interstate 35 near Mile Marker 16 in Freeborn County. The crash occurred around 6:59 PM, leading to significant disruptions in the area.
The incident involved a 2023 Nissan Altima and a 2020 Freightliner Semi, both traveling southbound when they made contact. The Nissan's occupants, Scott Michael Anderson, 50, and Jennifer Anne Anderson, 49, both from Grimes, IA, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Albert Lea Hospital for treatment. Emergency responders, including Mayo Ambulance, Clarks Grove Fire, Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, and Albert Lea Fire, provided care at the scene.
The Freightliner Semi’s driver, Sami Jacob, 46, of Arlington, TX, and passenger, Najah Oriana Peavy, 26, of San Antonio, TX, were uninjured. Both vehicles had airbags and seatbelts in use, which likely mitigated further harm. Authorities confirmed no alcohol involvement in the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
