Batavia, NY (March 18, 2023) – The Genesee County Sheriff’s office confirmed that 68-year-old Maryellen Wilber has lost her life due to a motor vehicle accident that took place in the Town of Batavia on Friday evening.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. on March 17, the Sheriff’s office was notified when an automobile accident took place on West Main Street Road, New York Route 5.
Reports from the police show that Wilber was driving a gray 2021 Hyundai west on Route 5. As her vehicle traveled through the 3800 block of the roadway, it collided with a 2014 Ford F3 50 and a 2015 Jeep Cherokee.
The three vehicles came to rest in the center of the road, causing delays in the area.
Wilber was ejected from her vehicle. She suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
