Baton Rouge, LA (September 19, 2023) – A tragic head-on collision occurred on LA 30, south of LA 1248 (Bluebonnet Blvd.) on Saturday, September 16, 2023, just before 6:00 p.m.
Louisiana State Police Troop A identified the victims as 34-year-old Stefan Valentine of Baton Rouge and 45-year-old Claudette Holmes of Carville.
Valentine, driving a 2004 Toyota 4-Runner, veered into the northbound lane, colliding with Holmes’s 2018 Mazda CX5.
Valentine, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.
Holmes, though restrained, also passed away from her injuries.
A Mazda passenger, using a seatbelt, sustained moderate injuries and was hospitalized.
Toxicology samples from both drivers were taken.
The investigation is still ongoing.
