Baxter County, AR (September 19, 2023) – A tragic crash unfolded on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 7:25 a.m. on State Highway 5 close to Midway.

Jennifer Watlington, 39, from Yellville, drove south, nearing the State Highway 126 junction. 

A northbound truck, steered by Michael Ragland, 61, of Marshall, didn’t give way.

The truck hit Watlington’s Chrysler, ending her life and her passenger’s, Sunshine Underhill, 40, of Summit.

Ragland sustained injuries and was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center.

Heavy fog was reported during the crash. 

The investigation is still ongoing.
