Bayonne, NJ (September 18, 2023) – A 63-year-old female crossing guard was hit by a car on Monday morning, September 18, 2023, just before 8:30 a.m.

The incident occurred at West 56th Street and Avenue C while she helped schoolchildren cross.

After hitting her, the driver assisted her onto the sidewalk and fled toward Jersey City.

The car, described as a 4-door white sedan driven by a male, remains missing.

The guard complained of back pain and was hospitalized. No children were in the street when the crash happened.

The investigation is still ongoing.
