Bayou Blue, LA (September 19, 2023) – On Friday, September 15, 2023, shortly before 10:00 p.m., a fatal collision occurred on LA Hwy 316 near Banks Boulevard.
Dominic Douglas, 30, of Houma rode his 2001 Suzuki Hayabusa northbound.
Simultaneously, John Vice of Byhalia, MS drove his 2021 RAM 2500 southbound.
Vice failed to yield, turning left onto Banks Boulevard, causing Douglas to crash into him.
Ejected from his motorcycle, Douglas, wearing a helmet, later died in the hospital.
Uninjured, Vice displayed signs of impairment and got arrested.
He declined a toxicology test, leading to a warrant.
Charges include vehicular homicide, DWI 4th offense, and failure to yield.
Both drivers’ toxicology samples are under review.
The investigation is still ongoing.
