Bedford County, VA (January 25, 2023) – A traffic accident took place in Bedford County on Monday morning that left three people injured. On January 23, the Stewartsville-Chamblissburg Volunteer Fire Department was requested to provide assistance at the scene of the crash at approximately 10:05 a.m.
Crash investigations provided by local police show that two vehicles collided on Virginia State Route 655 at the intersection of Meador Road.
Both vehicles suffered damage due to the accident. At least one person became trapped inside of their vehicle. Firefighters with the Bedford Fire Department and the Moneta Volunteer Fire Department were able to remove the door of the vehicle and remove the victims.
Three people suffered injuries and were transported to area hospitals.
At this time, investigations surrounding the crash are underway.
