Belvidere, SD (September 19, 2023) – Early Saturday morning, a tragic incident occurred on Interstate 90 near mile marker 164, east of Belvidere.

A 2018 Chevrolet Silverado was heading east when, at 2:07 a.m., a man stepped onto the road from the median.

Despite the driver’s efforts to brake, the Silverado hit the pedestrian, inflicting fatal injuries.

The Silverado’s 55-year-old driver, wearing a seatbelt, remained unharmed.

Authorities have yet to release the identities of those involved, awaiting family notification.

The investigation is still ongoing.
