Bibb County, AL (December 12, 2024) – An 81-year-old man from Bibb County tragically lost his life following a crash on Alabama 139 Monday afternoon. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Lee Johnson, of Brierfield, was critically injured when his Toyota Camry was struck by a Ford Explorer. The collision occurred about 15 miles north of Centreville at approximately 1:24 p.m.
Johnson was quickly transported to Bibb Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Ford Explorer and a passenger inside the SUV were also taken to the medical center for treatment. Their current conditions have not been disclosed. The cause of the crash is under investigation by troopers with ALEA's Highway Patrol Division.
