Bronx, NY – Fatal Hit-and-Run on Bruckner Expwy Near Exit 51

Bronx, NY (November 20, 2023) – Jasmine Hunter, 32, tragically died in a hit-and-run incident on the westbound Bruckner Expressway near Exit 51 in Soundview. The accident occurred around 1:15 a.m. when Hunter, after a crash, stepped out of her car onto the expressway’s shoulder.

A passing driver struck Hunter and continued driving, causing her to be thrown off the elevated expressway onto Bronx River Ave below. Hunter, a resident of East New York, Brooklyn, was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, but she did not survive her injuries.

Police are actively searching for the driver responsible for this fatal incident.
