Bronx, NY (February 10, 2023) – A major fire broke out inside a supermarket on Thursday evening, February 9th, leaving a total of four people injured. The incident was reported at approximately 5:37 p.m. in the Morris Heights section of the Bronx.
According to official reports, the fire started inside of the C-Town Supermarket located at 1750 University Avenue. The intensity of the blaze ultimately raised the fire to five alarms, resulting in multiple fire crews at the scene.
After arriving at the site of the fire, firefighters worked to extinguish the flames while EMTs assisted all those at the scene. A total of four people, including at least one civilian, suffered various injuries in the fire.
At this time, the conditions of the patients have not been verified. The cause of the fire is actively being investigated.
