Brooklyn, NY (February 20, 2023) – Authorities say that at least two people were injured in a motor vehicle accident involving an MTA bus that occurred early on Monday morning, February 20th. The crash took place at approximately 6:14 a.m. in the Columbia Street Waterfront District of Brooklyn.
Reports show that a passenger vehicle and an MTA bus collided on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway at the intersection with the Hugh L Carey Tunnel. Due to the impact of the collision, at least one person was trapped inside a vehicle, and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene to assess the damage and assist those involved.
After arriving at the scene, crews transported two people to local medical facilities to undergo additional evaluation and further medical treatment. The severity of the injuries suffered by the victims has not been reported by authorities.
An ongoing investigation into the events that triggered the collision is being conducted at this time. Law enforcement officials have not provided any further updates.
