Brooklyn, NY (November 8, 2022) – Authorities say that an elderly woman was fatally struck by a motor vehicle on Saturday evening, November 5th. The deadly accident happened at about 7:15 p.m. in the East Flatbush area of Brooklyn.
According to reports, Verna McKnight, 79, exited her vehicle on Church Avenue and was struck by a white van. The driver of the van initially pulled over but then fled the scene.
Emergency responders were called to the scene where they worked to assist those involved. McKnight was transported to Brookdale University Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.
