Brooklyn, NY (May 21, 2023) – Police in New York City are searching for the driver who caused a fatal hit-and-run accident in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The incident occurred just before 12:30 p.m.
Reports show the collision took place on South 5th Street when the driver of a Honda CRV got into a dispute with the victim before hitting him. The victim was identified as Jesus Perez, 49.
Witnesses say the two men may have known one another and reported seeing the suspect flee the scene on foot toward the Bushwick Houses that were nearby. The car was found approximately half a mile away.
The victim was transported to Woodhull Hospital in critical condition where he later lost his life.
