Brooklyn, NY (November 25, 2021) – A New York Police Department officer was injured after being hit by a Jeep while conducting a traffic stop. The incident was reported on Wednesday evening, November 24th, in the Canarsie neighborhood of Brooklyn.

According to the NYPD, an officer and his partner located a Jeep with stolen plates in the vicinity of East 83rd Street and Farragut Road. While conducting a stop, the officer approached the vehicle when it fled the area. The Jeep struck and dragged the officer as it headed down East 83rd Street.

The Jeep ultimately crashed in a driveway a short time later and emergency crews were dispatched to the scene. The injured officer was transported to Kings County Hospital to be treated for a leg injury.

At this time, the victim is reported to be in stable condition. Few other details have been made available.
