Premises Accidents in New York
New York City was first established in 1626 after Dutch settlers established a colony along the Hudson River. Since its creation, thousands of large structures were erected across the land. Many buildings are used for homes, businesses, and for a variety of purposes. Though some buildings in the area have aged well, it is imperative that property owners are proactive in ensuring they are able to withstand weather and other natural forces. Unfortunately, many property owners are negligent with their buildings. As a result, people suffer preventable injuries.
Every year, thousands of people throughout New York State are left with debilitating injuries from accidents on the property of others. When negligent property owners, managers, or renters fail to address dangerous conditions, and their guests sustain injuries, they can be held liable for the resulting injuries and damages. Victims who are injured under these circumstances should reach out to a premises liability attorney in New York as soon as possible.
