According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), portable electric heaters are estimated to be responsible for approximately 1,100 fires annually. The National Fire Protection Association says that space heaters account for most home heating fires of any type, causing at least two out of every five fires. Furthermore, of all fires caused by heating equipment, the majority of all which resulted in death involved a space heater. It is important to understand that if you have suffered due to a negligent person or entity, you have serious rights moving forward.

After losing a loved one in a careless, reckless, or otherwise negligent New York accident by no fault of the victim, it may feel like no amount of compensation could make you feel complete again. While it is true that no financial restitution can ever fully make up for your losses, filing a wrongful death claim against the responsible party or parties can go a long way toward helping you find some semblance of peace again.
