Brooklyn, NY (November 21, 2021) – A two-alarm house fire was reported in the 700th block of East 89th Street in the Canarsie community of Brooklyn at about 9:30 a.m.

Fire crews responded and rescued a one-month-old and a six-year-old child from the second floor of the family home.

The infant was unresponsive and unconscious. Paramedics immediately transported the critically injured baby to Brookdale Hospital for treatment.

Six additional residents and two firefighters also sustained injuries that were “less serious.”
