Brooklyn, NY – Three Workers Injured in Elevator Accident on Tillary St

Brooklyn, NY (June 15, 2020) – On Monday morning, June 15th, three construction workers were injured after a work platform inside an elevator shaft collapsed. The incident happened at around 8:00 a.m. inside a building located at 170 Tillary St. in downtown Brooklyn.

According to authorities, the three workers were standing on a work platform inside the elevator shaft on the fourth floor of a building that is under construction. The platform gave way and all three workers fell to the bottom of the shaft.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and all three workers were transported to Methodist Hospital with various injuries. All wounds have been reported as non-life-threatening but no further details were reported.

The Department of Buildings is currently in charge of the investigation into this incident.
