Brooklyn, NY (May 14, 2023) – A fire reported in the Dyker Heights neighborhood sent two people to area hospitals with injuries. The incident was reported at around 4:30 a.m. on May 14.
Reports from the New York Fire Department show that a fire broke out inside a structure located at 1169 85th Street. Firefighters arrived at the scene and located flames coming out of the building.
Approximately three minutes after arriving, firefighters triggered a second alarm to request further assistance.
Firefighters triggered a third alarm approximately half an hour later, requesting more help. Firefighters spent over an hour knocking down the flames before declaring the main body of the fire knocked down at approximately 5:30 a.m.
Two people were located with injuries as a result of the fire. The victims were transported to area hospitals for emergency care.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.
