Brooklyn, NY (May 15, 2023) – A building fire in East Flatbush claimed the life of a 67-year-old woman and left an 8-year-old girl injured in the morning hours of May 15th.
According to officials, the fire broke out shortly after 2 a.m. at the building on East 92nd Street. Sadly, the elderly woman, who was on oxygen, was unable to escape and succumbed to smoke inhalation.
Meanwhile, the young girl was taken to a local hospital for a minor injury. It is unclear at this time how the child was injured.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased victim during this difficult time. We also wish the injured child a quick and full recovery.
