Brownsville, TX ( July 20, 2023) – A vehicle collision occurred on the southbound lane of the expressway near Rancho Viejo.
Three people were transported to a local hospital.
One of them is in critical condition, as reported by officials.
The accident occurred on July 20th, 2023, when a vehicle struck a trailing vehicle of a TxDOT motorcade that was protecting a street sweeper.
Brownsville Fire Department Chief Jarrett Sheldon stated that among those injured, there was a “younger patient” in critical condition.
Both Brownsville Fire and EMS and Harlingen EMS promptly responded to the scene to provide assistance and medical care.
Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the collision and the circumstances leading up to the accident.
