Buffalo County, WI (October 1, 2024) – A tragic multi-vehicle collision occurred on Friday morning, September 27, resulting in the deaths of two motorcyclists from southeastern Minnesota. The accident took place at approximately 10:38 AM in the township of Nelson, along State Highway 35 near Deer Creek Road.
According to the Buffalo County Sheriff's Office, a pickup truck traveling northbound crossed the centerline and struck three southbound motorcycles. The impact of the collision was devastating, leading to the fatalities of two riders: Mark Holzer, 59, of Pine Island, and Brian Shank, 59, of Chatfield. A third motorcyclist involved in the accident sustained only minor injuries, while the driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
