Pedestrian Collisions in New York

Buffalo, NY - Two Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash at Franklin St at Chippewa St

Personal injury suits involving pedestrians are based on the legal concept of negligence. This means, for a pedestrian to be eligible for financial compensation, they will have to show that the driver is responsible for their injuries because they conducted themselves in such a way that their duty of care was violated.

Some common examples of driver negligence in New York are:

  • Speeding
  • Driving while drunk
  • Inattentive driving
  • Unlawful turns, lane changes, or other maneuvers
  • Failure to yield the right-of-way

In New York, negligent drivers can be held liable for the injuries and other losses they cause. An experienced New York pedestrian injury lawyer can help you effectively establish liability for your accident.

Being injured in an auto-pedestrian accident can be an extremely disruptive, frightening, confusing, and overwhelming time in a person’s life.
