Caldwell Parish, LA (September 18, 2023) – At around 7 a.m. on Monday, September 18, 2023, a tragic single-vehicle accident occurred on La. Hwy. 133 close to Bellview Lane.

Louisiana State Police confirmed the deaths of Melanie Gray, 60, and Brinkley Thomas, 43, due to the collision.

Gray drove a 2023 Hyundai Elantra northward on La. Hwy. 133 when it veered off and collided with a tree.

Gray, not using a seatbelt, was thrown from the car and died on-site.

Thomas, similarly unbelted, also perished in the crash.

Authorities have collected toxicology samples for analysis.

The investigation is still ongoing.
