Cambridge, MD (July 13, 2023) – One person lost her life as a result of an automobile accident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Cambridge.
Just after 12:30 p.m. on July 11, officers with the Maryland State Police responded to the site of an accident that occurred on Maryland State Route 343. Police determined that a Ford F450 was on the westbound side of the roadway when a Ford F250 pickup truck crashed into the rear of the vehicle.
A 66-year-old man involved in the accident, identified as Gary Peek, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.
A second victim, identified as 32-year-old Michael Gambrill, and his 7-year-old passenger were both injured. The two victims were transported to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Cambridge, Maryland, for emergency care.
The accident is currently being investigated by the Maryland State Police and the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office.
