Carthage, NC (December 16, 2024) – A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Mt. Carmel Rd and Old Carthage Rd sent one person to the hospital Sunday morning. The crash occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. on the outskirts of Carthage.
According to authorities, the incident happened when a Mercedes traveling east on Old Carthage Rd stopped at the intersection before attempting a left turn onto Mt. Carmel Rd. During the turn, the Mercedes was struck by a Ford F-150 traveling south on Mt. Carmel Rd.
The driver of the Ford F-150 sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Moore Regional Hospital for treatment.
Emergency crews, including Moore County EMS, Eagle Springs Fire Department, and the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the scene to assist with the injured driver and manage traffic. The intersection was temporarily diverted while the vehicles were removed, and the site was cleared. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
