Cass County, MO (October 24, 2024) – A serious vehicle accident occurred on Wednesday evening, resulting in injuries. At approximately 7:40 p.m., emergency responders were called to the scene on I-49 Southbound at mile marker 171.8.
Preliminary reports indicate that the accident involved two vehicles. A black 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by a 17-year-old male juvenile from Peculiar, MO, was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control and struck a black 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by 51-year-old Jeanie Tinker from Harrisonville, MO. The impact caused the Pontiac to be declared a total loss, while the Chevrolet sustained minor damage and was secured roadside.
Jeanie Tinker sustained injuries in the collision and was transported to Research Medical Center by South Metro EMS for medical evaluation and treatment. Fortunately, the juvenile driver of the Pontiac was not reported to have sustained any injuries.
Emergency responders from the Cass County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene, managing traffic and ensuring the safety of all involved.
