Cass, MO (October 22, 2024) – A vehicle collision occurred on October 21, 2024, at approximately 8:52 PM on Highway 7, south of O'Bannon in Cass County. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to assist those involved in the incident.

The accident occurred when the Oldsmobile, driven by 29-year-old Johnnie Howery Jr. from Harrisonville, struck the rear of the GMC Acadia, which was driven by 32-year-old Zachary Qualls from Kansas City. The impact resulted in the Oldsmobile being deemed a total loss and subsequently towed from the scene by All City Tow. The GMC Acadia sustained moderate damage and was also towed by the same company.
Johnnie Howery Jr. sustained moderate injuries in the collision and was not wearing a safety device at the time of the accident. He was transported by Cass County EMS to Belton Regional Medical Center for medical evaluation and treatment.
