Charlotte, NC ( July 18, 2023) – A crash involving an overturned tanker truck occurred on Tuesday, July 18th, 2023.
According to Medic, the incident occurred on I-85 North near the Beatties Ford Road exit and involved multiple vehicles besides the tanker truck.
Multiple response agencies, including Medic, were on the scene to address the situation.
The NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT) reported that the crash happened at approximately 4:30 a.m.
Medic confirmed that the crash transported two individuals to the hospital.
One person sustained serious injuries, while the other had minor injuries.
Due to the nature of the incident, a hazmat team was called in to assist with the cleanup process.
The cause leading up to the crash remains unclear, and further investigation is underway.
