Charlottesville, VA – Corey Tinder Killed in Accident on Rt 250

Charlottesville, VA (September 17, 2020) – Troopers with the Virginia State Police are investigating a two-vehicle collision that took place in Fluvanna County. 

According to initial incident reports, the accident occurred on September 14, 2020, at around 8:40 p.m. along Route 250, close to the Diamond Road intersection.

Officials stated that a 2000 Honda CBR 600 motorcycle was driving westbound along Route 250. As the motorcycle attempted to pass the vehicle in front of it, it collided head-first with a 2013 Kia Optima heading in the opposite direction. 

The motorcycle rider, 22-year-old Corey L. Tinder, a resident of Charlottesville, was pronounced dead at the scene. Reports indicate that Tinder was wearing his helmet at the time of the accident.

The driver of the Kia, a 45-year-old female resident of Arvonia who was wearing her seat belt when the crash occurred, was unharmed. 

The police investigation into this accident is still ongoing.
