Chesterfield County, VA (December 19, 2020) – A Thursday morning injury crash occurred on a roadway in Chesterfield County that left a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries. The crash occurred on Powhite Parkway, AKA Route 76, at approximately 7:15 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, December 17.
The accident occurred when a Chevrolet Silverado headed south tried to stop before crashing into vehicles that were stopped ahead of him. The Silverado ran off the left side of the road and went over a jersey wall, coming to rest on the center median.
The five occupants of the Silverado were not injured, but when one of them went to leave the vehicle to walk to safety, they were struck by a Ford Pickup truck. The pickup drove over the guardrail and struck the pedestrian.
The driver of the Silverado and Ford’s sole occupant remained at the scene of the crash that caused life-threatening injuries to the pedestrian who attempted to exit the Silverado. No one involved has been publicly identified at this time.
